One of the most common questions we receive at The Custom Bed Company is: how long will it take to get my custom bed? It is a completely fair question — you are investing in a piece of furniture that is made specifically for you, and you want to know when you can start enjoying it.
The short answer: most custom beds take 2 to 3 weeks from order to delivery. TV lift beds take up to 4 weeks. Here is a full breakdown of the process.
The Custom Bed Manufacturing Process
When you place an order, your bed enters our production queue at our New Jersey workshop. Here is what happens at each stage:
Day 1-2: Order Confirmation and Material Selection
After your order is confirmed, our production team selects your chosen fabric from our material library and allocates your order to our craftsmen. If you have requested a custom fabric or non-standard size, this is when we confirm the specifications with you.
Day 3-7: Frame Construction
Your bed frame is built from solid hardwood. Our craftsmen cut, join, and sand the frame to exact dimensions. For TV lift beds, the motorized mechanism is fitted and tested during this phase.
Day 7-14: Upholstery
This is where your bed really comes to life. High-density foam padding is applied to the frame and then your chosen fabric is cut, stretched, and fixed with precision. Every panel is checked for alignment and quality before moving to the next stage.
Day 14-16: Quality Control
Every completed bed goes through a full quality inspection before it leaves our workshop. For TV lift beds, the mechanism is tested again with the upholstery complete. Any imperfections are corrected at this stage.
Day 16-21: Delivery Scheduling and White Glove Delivery
Once your bed passes quality control, our logistics team contacts you to schedule your White Glove delivery. Our two-person delivery team will bring the bed to your room of choice and ensure it is perfectly positioned.
Lead Times by Bed Type
- Luxury beds: 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation
- TV lift beds: 3 to 4 weeks from order confirmation
- Kids beds: 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation
- Day beds: 2 to 3 weeks from order confirmation
- Non-standard sizes or custom fabric: Add up to 1 additional week
Can I Get My Bed Faster?
In some cases we are able to prioritize orders if you have an urgent deadline such as a house move or a special occasion. Contact us at info@custombedco.com when placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.
What Happens if There Is a Delay?
Occasionally, material supply issues or unusually high order volumes can extend lead times slightly. If this happens, we will always contact you proactively with an updated timeline. We believe in complete transparency and will never leave you wondering about your order.
Delivery Across the USA
All orders include free White Glove delivery across the continental United States. Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, and international destinations is available on request with additional lead time.
